Europe

Europe is the destination most travelers think they understand — and the one that most consistently surprises them when they plan luxury travel there with someone who actually knows it.

I've spent time in the wine regions of Burgundy and the Alentejo, the smaller Sicilian towns that don't appear in airport bookshops, the parts of the Balkans that are still a decade from being overrun. I know which neighborhoods in Lisbon are worth the walk and which Roman restaurants are coasting on location. I know the private guides in Seville who can explain what you're actually looking at, and the properties in Provence that earn their rates.

Europe rewards the traveler who goes looking for the specific version of it rather than the general one. That's what I plan.
