The continent is easy to underestimate. Most people have already been somewhere in North America and assume they know what it offers. They're usually wrong about the depth of it.

Luxury travel across North America rewards travelers who go looking for the specific version of it. The American West alone — Zion, Bryce, the Grand Tetons, Glacier — takes years to do properly. Alaska is a different category of wild: glaciers calving into open water, brown bear country, coastline that has never been developed. Canada's Maritimes have a character that has nothing to do with the Rocky Mountain version of the country most visitors see. And Hawaii is six islands, each one distinct enough to justify its own trip.
